Momotaro Garden

The Momotaro Garden

This garden has been carefully constructed to make sure that it complies with the exacting requirements of Japanese garden design.
Every stone, gravel ripple, cobble and plant is positioned so that it represents or compliments a part of the Momotaro story.

Please keep to the path and enjoy the delights of a traditional Japanese garden. This will ensure that the integrity of the garden is maintained for you and others.

For their Japanese style garden, Sansui-design Ltd have chosen the story of Momotaro, a folk story as well known in Japan as Robin Hood is known in England. In Japan, the legend of Momotaro is told in comic form and is a well loved TV cartoon series.

Silent Space

The Momotaro Garden is our designated Silent Space within Springfields Gardens. This garden provides a gentle retreat for peaceful contemplation where we invite you to pause and reflect quietly.

Silent Space is a charitable organisation, providing biodiverse environments where visitors are invited to 'switch off from the outside world and to take time to reflect'.  Find out more at Silent Space | Peaceful time in green places

To help everyone enjoy this tranquil environment, please respect the quiet time of fellow visitors.

Please be aware that you may occasionally notice our team carrying out essential garden care, and we are grateful for your understanding.
