A block of yew hedging highlights the entrance and elegantly balances the lofty head height grasses that wave gently in the air. You are drawn into the abundance of organic lines that define the space within.
The central circular arena encompasses a still dark pool that reflects the sky and tree canopy, intrinsically linking the local woodland environment with the design. Constructed on top of the crescent shaped earth bank is a raised viewing platform that can be reached by the entrance and exit ramps, giving the visitor a chance to see the garden at another level and appreciate the design and layout.
The garden has been designed and constructed by the Woodhams team, who have won several awards including two Gold Medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The Woodhams team is based in central London and predominately works in the South East as well as nationally and internationally. Their projects range from small courtyards to country estates. The principle designers for this project were Stephen Woodhams and Daniel McCarthy.
