The Gardens:
Springfields Festival Gardens, a previously permanent but seasonal show garden for the local bulb industry first opened in 1966 and quickly captured the public's imagination. Now open year-round, the gardens are owned, managed, and maintained by Springfields Horticultural Society Ltd (Registered Charity No. 253736) and offered to the local community and visitors from further afield to enjoy.
Recognised as an RHS Partner Garden and holder of a Plant Heritage National Plant Collection of Narcissus, Springfields Festival Gardens encompasses 15 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, woodland walks, water features and lawned open spaces, with seasonally planted displays all year round. Uniquely positioned adjacent to Springfields Outlet Shopping and Leisure, it stands as the only garden in Britain to combine horticultural beauty with retail convenience.
The gardens boast an impressive array of plantings, including both historic varieties and lesser-known cultivars of bulbs. Particular highlights include Daffodils, Hyacinths, Tulips, Alliums and Dahlias that create spectacular displays as the seasons unfold. A jewel within the grounds is the Japanese 'Momotaro Garden', a recent addition to the 'Silent Space Organisation' offering a place for peaceful contemplation and to reflect quietly.
2026 sees the Springfields Horticultural Society Charity celebrate it’s 60th anniversary with various events through the year. Of note is the Annual Daffodil and Spring Flower Show which will be held on the 11th of April 2026 – a must see for lovers of the cheery daffodil!
Open 364 days annually—closing only on Christmas Day—Springfields Festival Gardens welcomes all visitors completely free of charge, inviting exploration and discovery throughout every season.
